Freeman Thomas, strategic design director at Ford, will take part in a live design panel discussion on Wednesday 7 May. The panel, hosted by Ford and the Industrial Designers Society of America, will also include CEO of industrial design firm Fuseproject Yves Béhar, and Christopher Williams, business development director at product design and company Lime Lab. Topics will how technology plays a role in design; how designers shape consumer behaviors and responses to innovative products; and how products both stand out from and fit in with the world around them.

These leaked, blinding lime-green photos of the new Ford Focus RS have surfaced on the internet today – nearly a month ahead of the planned unveiling of Ford's new hot hatch. However, CAR has learned that they are computer-generated images of the Focus RS and do not reveal the finished item, which will be launched at the 2008 London motor show in July.The three shots were used in an internal presentation in 2007 and insiders claim the finished car is considerably different. The strong early demand for the Chevrolet Camaro has General Motors looking to crank more units out of the Oshawa, Ontario, assembly plant. The Oshawa plant was exempt from GM's recent announcement of shutdowns of as long as nine weeks for several of its plants--primarily those that build pickups and SUVs. Oshawa will increase Camaro output by adding overtime and an extra week to the plant's production schedule.
